Preparing Leaders for What's Next

McGeorge School of Law is more than a traditional law school. Building off the core legal analytical skills that have been our trademark for 93 years, the law school has transformed the JD curriculum to be deeply practical, experiential and career-oriented. McGeorge also offers four innovative master’s degrees in law and policy whose defining feature is interdisciplinary learning. The Capital Center for Law and Policy has cemented our reputation in one of the country’s more important state capitals. The Center of Advocacy & Alternative Dispute Resolution emphasizes the foundational training in professional skills for which McGeorge has long been recognized. The school’s new MSL program offers flexible scheduling for those who want to pursue a legal degree for professional advancement in their field. McGeorge is building on its strong roots, embracing change and educating the leaders for what’s next in law and policy. McGeorge is the only law school in the nation to offer Master of Public Policy (MPP) and Master of Public Administration (MPA) degrees. McGeorge also offers the Master of Science in Law (MSL) for working professionals who need law and policy training to change or advance their nonlegal careers. With common faculty, cross-listed courses, and a single Graduate Campus, McGeorge provides a rich, unique interdisciplinary learning environment for students pursuing its five law and policy degrees. This publication will help prospective students understand the diverse offerings of McGeorge School of Law.
