Each year in San Diego County, 15,000 active duty military personnel transition to civilian life. Many of these veterans are eligible for VA benefits. The difficulty, however, is making veterans aware of their benefits and steering them through the filing process. This is where the County of San Diego Office of Military & Veterans Affairs comes in. With centers throughout the region and an extensive outreach program, the OMVA is the best resource for veterans and active military to receive help accessing their benefits.

With 15 locations, San Diego Office of Military & Veterans Affairs serves a vast community of America's service members: 40% of the population of San Diego county (1.2 million people) are veterans or family of a vet. Many know that benefits are available, but they don’t know what they are or where to begin. Others think they don’t qualify or don’t deserve these benefits. The San Diego County Office of Military & Veterans Affairs is here to help, with knowledgeable staff that can help veterans claim all the benefits they are eligible for. This publication will educate veterans and family members on the benefits available to them and encourage them to not go it alone.
