For adults to be successful in today’s workforce, they will need education. The easiest place for them to get it is at local adult schools and community colleges. Thanks to California’s Adult Education Block Grant, adult schools and community colleges in the Kern County area are working more closely to align programs to meet workforce needs. This work is being facilitated by the Kern AEBG Consortium, which is comprised of several local school districts and the Kern Community College District.

With many children in Kern County in need of forever families, this issue is one that deeply affects both the children and the greater community. Targeted particularly at potential resource/adoptive families, the piece educates and encourages, helping families gain the confidence to step forward and welcome a child into their lives.
